Changes Coming to Recycling
We’d like to let you know about changes with our residential recycling that includes new bins, trucks and services that will roll by early March. Each home will receive a NEW 64-gallon green cart with yellow lid for items considered recycling. For Boerne Utilities customers, there will be no additional cost for these new recycle bins and new programs.
There are other changes as well. Bulky item pick-up will now occur monthly, as opposed to every six months. Also, as part of this transition, Boerne utilities customers will now be able to take advantage of hazardous waste collection. Deposits / Credit Letters
A deposit will be required as a condition of service unless a valid credit reference letter from a previous utility company is received.
A valid credit reference letter from your previous utility company must show a 12 month credit history within the last 24 months with no more than one late payment. Credit references may be obtained by contacting your previous or current utility provider and requesting that a credit reference be faxed to us at 830-249-2580. If a credit reference is not valid, service will not be turned on. You cannot assume that services will be turned on because you had a credit reference sent from a prior utility company. Please verify the validity with us.
Personal references are obtained to allow for emergency contact in the event there is a problem with your utilities and you cannot be reached through your work, cell, or home numbers. This reference should be someone who would know how to contact you in the event of an emergency.
The senior citizen benefit allows for the incompatibility of fixed income pay dates and cycle billing due dates. This means that senior citizen accounts are never penalized for not paying by the due date. However, late payments will show on the account credit history, and disconnection of the account for non-payment results in the loss of this benefit. The account holder claiming the senior citizen benefit must reside at the service location and be 60 years of age or older.
Each applicant must sign this form and must provide a valid US government issued identification card (ex. copy of applicant(s) valid US driver’s license). Service applied for by noon can be turned on the same day except for gas service. This service requires a prescheduled appointment and an adult present when the gas is turned on.
