Burn Ban

The Burn Ban in Kendall County is ON. As of July 13, 2020 the Kendall County Commissioners have reinstated the burn ban. We ask that you always call Boerne dispatch at 830-249-8645 prior to burning to verify whether or not a burn ban is active in the county and to give notification of when and where you will be burning. By City ordinance burning is never allowed within the City limits.


The Boerne Fire Department was founded as a volunteer fire department in 1903, and has served the citizens of Boerne and Kendall County for more than 100 years.

Currently, the department is comprised of approximately 35 members. Our paid staff includes the Fire Chief, the Assistant Fire Chief, an Administrative Assistant, 3 Lieutenants and 11 shift Firefighters. The remainder of the department is comprised of volunteer firefighters.


The department provides a variety of emergency services to the citizens of Boerne and parts of Kendall County. Services provided include fire protection and prevention, hazardous materials response, the first responder program, specialized rescue, and weapons of mass destruction responses.

The Boerne Fire Department is consistently striving to provide the best possible service to all citizens in Boerne, as well as to those who work in and visit our city.
